FAQ
Q. Do you give “free” consultations?
A. Yes, initially on the telephone and, if indicated,
in the office during normal business hours.*
*Some consultations are charged a nominal fee. As Abe Lincoln said, “A lawyer’s time and advice are his stock in trade.” Eric says “An in depth consultation and legal opinion from me is the best money you ever spent!”
Q. How are legal fees paid?
A. Depends on the case. Some predictable legal service are paid at a “flat” (or range of) fee(s) for the whole matter. Other cases are paid per hour; yet others are paid on a “contingency” or percentage basis.
Whatever the fee arrangement, it is reduced to writing.
Q. Do you accept credit cards or time payments?
A. Yes. Flat fee cases may be paid in full at the time of retaining our services. Hourly cases require a retainer to be placed in the attorney trust account to be drawn upon based on the number of hours and expenses spent. For contingency fee cases (percentage), the attorney usually advances all costs which are recouped at end of case.
